Fiona graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2004 and is an APA titled Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist, having completed her Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in 2012.

Fiona has extensive experience in elite sport and performing arts physiotherapy. Since 2007 she has worked with Gymnastics Victoria covering state and national level competitions and provided gymnastics coverage at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Fiona also loves the performing arts and was Cirque du Soleil’s Head Therapist for 2 years on their CORTEO show. She continues to work with touring acrobats and aerialists and provides physio services to Cirque du Soeil shows touring Melbourne including TORUK in 2018, and LUZIA and 2024, as well as training in flying trapeze aerials herself. Fiona was the Western Bulldogs Football Club’s Head Physiotherapist for their AFLW team from its 2017 inception till 2022 and worked with their VFLM premiership team in 2016. She is also a keen basketballer, still playing competitively herself, and is currently Physiotherapist for the WNBL’s Southside Flyers.

Her physio style is to utilise an individually tailored combination of manual therapy, dry needling, biomechanical and force plate assessment, specific exercise and advice, to treat and prevent acute and chronic sporting and musculoskeletal conditions. She enjoys managing shoulder conditions and has a particular interest in the hanging and weight bearing shoulder. She also enjoys managing soft tissue and lower limb injuries, managing adolescent athletes, and working with performers and athletes alike.

Fiona is passionate about optimising the management of the female athlete. Alongside her clinical work she has been a research assistant at La Trobe University working on the Prep to Play Project investigating ways to minimise injury risk in female footballers, and the GLA:D (Good Living Osteoarthritis Denmark) project team which aims to optimise outcomes for those living with knee and hip Osteoarthritis (OA). She also is an APA educator, assisting on various teaching courses including the APA Level 1 and Level 2 Sports Course and Dry Needling Course, and she mentors La Trobe University Masters of Sports Physiotherapy students.
