Sport & Exercise Medicine

Specialising in musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine, our doctors are Consultant Sport & Exercise Physicians, Sport & Exercise Physicians or Sport & Exercise Registrars.

The Physicians have completed their additional post graduate qualifications and the Registrars are in the process of doing so.

All are highly skilled in the diagnosis, prognosis, and the coordination and management of treatment of injuries, whether they are from sport, or day to day activities.

Shockwave Therapy can also be accessed through our Clinic’s Sports & Exercise Medicine services.

To receive the full Medicare rebate, a referral from a general or specialist medical practitioner is required to see a Sport and Exercise Physician at Alphington Sports Medicine (this does not apply for appointments with Registrars).

Patients who attend without a medical referral will be charged the regular fees and will receive a reduced Medicare rebate.

Additional fees may apply for investigations or procedures performed during your appointment. Some of these may attract a Medicare rebate.

For further information on our Physicians and Registrars please see our Practitioner Profiles page.

Please Note:

  • We also offer a Sports Medicine service in Sunbury.
  • We do not bulk bill medical appointments (except in exceptional circumstances). Most medical appointments will incur an out-of-pocket fee – expected amounts for our Sports Medicine Services are shown on some of the Doctors’ bios.
  • Telehealth appointments will attract the same fees and out of pocket expenses as in clinic appointments.
