Masters Qualified
APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist
Thomas is an APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, having completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy training, with distinction, at the University of Melbourne in 2018, and then Masters in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in 2025.
Heralding from Canada, Thomas has a passion for all sports and believes in an active approach to both rehabilitation, high performance, and injury prevention-based physiotherapy. Although traditionally drawn to the quintessential ‘North American’ sports of baseball, ice hockey and American Football, over his time in Australia he has built a strong passion for Australian Rules and, in addition to his clinical role, Thomas has served as Physiotherapist for various sporting clubs at both local and State League level. This includes 3 years as a Physiotherapist for the AFL State League Umpires and 2 seasons as Lead Physiotherapist for the Western Jets of the Coates Talent League. Most recently, his postgraduate training has afforded the opportunity to spend time working alongside the Physiotherapy teams at Cricket Victoria and Melbourne United Basketball (NBL).
Thomas has a particular interest in treating shoulder, hip and groin-related sporting injuries, and has additional training in dry needling. He is also an accredited GLA:D practitioner, having completed additional training in the management of knee and hip osteoarthritis.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys running around with his playful Golden Retriever Sherlock, attending Carlton home games with his wife, improving his ice hockey and golf skills, and researching in-depth stats to help win his next Fantasy Football title.
