Shane is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who graduated from Federation University Ballarat in 2015, with a strong focus on helping people safely return to exercise, sport, and an active lifestyle.
At Alphington Sports Medicine, Shane works as part of a multidisciplinary sports medicine team, delivering evidence‑based rehabilitation and performance‑focused exercise programs. His approach emphasises progressive loading, movement quality, and building physical resilience to support return to sport, training, and everyday activity.
Alongside private practice, Shane is a Senior Exercise Physiologist with the Austin Health Community Rehabilitation Service, where he supports individuals with complex neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. This role has strengthened his ability to manage challenging presentations and tailor programs to a wide range of abilities, goals, and life demands.
Shane has broad experience across musculoskeletal injury, post‑surgical rehabilitation, and neurological presentations, and enjoys guiding clients from early rehabilitation through to higher‑level functional and recreational activity. He works with everyone from post‑injury clients to recreational and endurance athletes aiming to optimise performance and reduce injury risk.
As a triathlete, Shane has first‑hand experience of the physical and mental demands of training and competition. He understands the importance of balancing structured training with work, family, and life commitments, and applies this perspective when designing practical, sustainable programs for his clients.
