Jacob Monk

APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist

Jacob is a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist who completed his undergraduate Physiotherapy Degree in 2013 and his Masters in Sport & Exercise Physiotherapy in 2022, both at Latrobe University.

He has a vast amount of experience working in basketball and running sports. Since 2022 Jacob has worked closely with the Adelaide Lightning (WNBL) for their Victorian games, and with Basketball Victoria’s state development program teams during their national U16 championship campaigns. Previously Jacob was the Head Physiotherapist for Ballarat Basketball’s NBL1 Miners and Rush teams (2017 – 2018) and also worked with teams in the Ballarat Football League for 4 years.

While living in Tokyo, Japan for 3 years Jacob worked in private practice and provided support to elite Australian long-distance runners competing in Ekiden races. He also worked alongside the Australian Wallabies during their 2019 Rugby World Cup Tournament. More recently Jacob has also been involved with multiple paralympic organisations, providing coverage at the AIS for The Spinners, Australia’s U23 Men’s wheelchair basketball team (2023) and touring overseas with the Australian Paralympic Table Tennis teams since (2025).

Jacob has a special interest in treating running-related injuries including achilles, foot, shin and knee pain, which often includes running assessment and retraining. He also enjoys treating ACL and knee injuries, as well as hip and groin injuries. He is a keen runner and former country league football player himself, who takes pleasure in helping people return to sport and activites they enjoy.

Memberships: Australian Physiotherapy Association, Sports Physiotherapy Australia, Australian College of Physiotherapists (MACP).

Availability: Mondays, Tuesdays (till 2pm), Wednesdays (pm), Thursdays (pm), Saturdays (am). Telehealth appointments available.
